KOVALENKO Svitlana  Mykolayivna – professor of the department of management, marketing and quality assurance in pharmacy, doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, professor. She was born on July 7, 1968, in Kharkiv.

In 1991, she graduated with honors from the Kharkiv Pharmaceutical Institute, with a degree in Pharmacy, received the qualification of a pharmacist and continued her professional activities: as a senior laboratory assistant at the Department of Organic Chemistry (1991-1996), head of Quality Control Department “Magik” (1996-1999); senior researcher of the State Research Laboratory for Quality Control of Medicinal Products (1999-2002), associate professor of the Department of Quality Management (2002-2012), associate professor of the Department of Commodity Science (2012-2015), professor of the Department of Commodity Science (2015-2020), head of the Department of Management , economics and Quality Assurance in pharmacy (2020 -2022).

Since 2022 professor at the department of management and quality assurance in pharmacy, since september 2024, professor at the department of management, marketing, and quality assurance in pharmacy.

In 1991, she defended her Ph.D. thesis on the specialty 15.00.01 – drug technology and pharmaceutical business organization on the topic: “Glisulfazid: development of optimal technologies and methods of standardization and dosage forms.”

In 2014, she defended her doctoral dissertation on the specialty 15.00.01 “Drug technology, organization of pharmaceutical business and forensic pharmacy” on the topic “Theoretical and experimental substantiation of the composition and technology of combined medicinal products based on organosulfur acids.” In February 2015, she was awarded the academic title of Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

In 2021, she obtained a Master’s degree in the specialty 281 “Public Administration and Management” from the National University of Pharmacy. In 2023, she received a Master’s degree in Management in the specialty 073 “Management” from the National University of Pharmacy.

Scientific directions of Prof. Kovalenko S.M. include: implementation and development of quality management systems of pharmaceutical enterprises and higher education institutions; creation of organizational and methodological foundations for training quality management specialists for the pharmaceutical sphere of the health care industry; development of methodical approaches to the analysis of processes of pharmaceutical quality management systems and conducting internal audits at pharmaceutical enterprises, development of the composition, technology and standardization of pharmaceutical preparations in the form of tablets and gels, development of quality control methods for pharmaceutical preparations.

Scientific achievements: author and co-author of more than 310 scientific and educational-methodological works, including: 9 textbooks and manuals, 5 monographs, more than 240 articles in professional publications (including 17 included in the international scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science), 6 patents and copyright certificates.

Scientific school: supervised 1 candidate of sciences. Currently supervising 1 dissertation work for obtaining the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in specialty 226 “Pharmacy. Industrial pharmacy”. Member of the editorial board of the scientific journal “Achievements in Clinical and Experimental Medicine.”

Since 2021, she has been an expert for the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (NQAA). She is the guarantor of the educational program “Quality, Standardization, and Certification” in the field of knowledge “07 Management and Administration,” specialty “073 Management” at the National University of Pharmacy.

Freelance certified auditor for quality management systems at the Certification Body “PRYROST” of the Ukrainian Quality Association and the German body DQS (2005-2014), and technical expert in the areas of “Pharmacy” and “Education” for the same organization (2014 to present). From 2004 to 2009, she actively participated in external audits of quality management systems for compliance with ISO 9001 at leading Ukrainian enterprises and organizations.

Since 2014, she has been a member of the working committee for the development and implementation of the quality management system at the National University of Pharmacy, and since 2015, she has been an internal auditor of the quality management system at the National University of Pharmacy. Since 2020, she has been a member of the working group for the implementation of the integrated management system at the National University of Pharmacy.

Member of the Ukrainian Association for Management and Business Education Development (UARMBO).
