On April 17, 2025, the Department of Management, Marketing and Quality Assurance in Pharmacy of the National University of Pharmacy held a scientific and practical seminar on the occasion of the All-Ukrainian Environment Day.
The All-Ukrainian Environment Day has been celebrated annually on the third Saturday of April since 1998 by decree of the President. The holiday was established in honor of the Stockholm Conference on the Environment, which led to the creation of UNEP – the United Nations Environment Program. The purpose of the holiday is to raise awareness of environmental problems and motivate people to take active action to preserve nature.
The speakers of the seminar were professors, associate professors of the National University of Pharmacy.
The seminar was opened by Volodymyr MALYI, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Management, Marketing and Quality Assurance in Pharmacy of the National University of Pharmacy. He congratulated the participants on the occasion of the All-Ukrainian Environment Day, wishing them success in their work and new scientific achievements.
Professor of the Department of Management, Marketing and Quality Assurance in Pharmacy Tetyana KRUTSKIH delivered a report on the topic “Eco-labeling in Ukraine”. The speaker focused on the importance of implementing effective labeling systems that will contribute to environmental protection and transparency for consumers. It was emphasized that eco-labeling can raise public awareness and encourage enterprises to more sustainable production.
Professor of the Department of Management, Marketing and Quality Assurance in Pharmacy of the National University of Pharmacy Svitlana KOVALENKO presented a study on the prospects for implementing environmental management systems in the activities of domestic pharmaceutical manufacturers. The implementation of such systems is an important step in reducing the negative impact on the environment and increasing the competitiveness of companies. The report discussed the main advantages and barriers of this process, and also offered recommendations for the integration of international environmental standards into the domestic pharmaceutical industry.
The report of Professor of the Department of Management, Marketing and Quality Assurance in Pharmacy of the National University of Pharmacy Olena LITVINOVA was devoted to the topic of using 2D nanomaterials in food packaging, in particular innovations, environmental risks and prospects. It was emphasized that nanotechnologies can significantly improve the safety of packaging, reduce the use of preservatives and extend the shelf life of products, as well as create intelligent packaging. At the same time, attention was focused on the importance of assessing environmental risks and toxicity of nanoparticles.
Associate Professor of the Department of Management, Marketing and Quality Assurance in Pharmacy of the National University of Pharmacy Olha ROHULIA highlighted the main approaches to the implementation of environmental marketing, analyzed examples of sustainable practices in the activities of pharmaceutical companies and outlined the prospects for their further development, taking into account the requirements of environmental legislation and the growing attention of consumers to environmental issues.
The seminar was held in a friendly atmosphere, promoting the exchange of experience and ideas. A specialist in any field of activity must possess environmental knowledge, understand the problems of interaction between society and nature, and also assess the impact of economic activity on the environment.
