On November 27, 2024, at the Department of Management, Marketing and Quality Assurance in Pharmacy of the NUPh, a practical lesson on the elective educational component “Preparation of a Pharmaceutical Representative” was held for 4th-year higher education students of the educational program “Pharmacy” on the topic “Features of conducting a presentation in the practice of a medical (pharmaceutical) representative”. The lecturer is Professor, Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences Iryna PESTUN.
The invited speaker was our former graduate, and now Commercial Training Lead Opella UA (head of organization, training and development of external service of Opella Healthcare Ukraine) Dmitry MATVIENKO.

The report focused on the structure of the presentation, its preparation, and delivery using the example of a medicinal product from Opella.
According to the speaker, the practice of such communication in the educational process is important and complements theoretical knowledge with practical experience from market experts, which allows applicants to delve deeper into the specifics of the profession.
Applicants took an active part in discussing the information presented, noting the interesting and useful content. Answering numerous questions, the invited speaker shared his own experience and the company’s experience regarding certain aspects of the work of a medical (pharmaceutical) representative.
The positive experience of the practical session allowed us to better adapt the theoretical material of the topic using the example of a real company case, master the skills of preparing for a presentation aimed at the target audience, highlighting the characteristics and benefits of a medicinal product, forming conclusions, etc.
